Services for Hershall Ray Morris, 73, Norman, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Lavonn Brown officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.

Mr. Morris died Oct. 9 at his home in Norman.

He was born April 13, 1925 in Healdton, the son of Truman Alvin Morris and Johnnie Lee Addington Morris. He graduated from Cushing High School. He married Jackie Hagadorn on Aug. 5, 1944, in Paris, Texas. A World War II veteran of the U. S. Army, he retired from the Air Force reserves as a major after 20 years of service. He had a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a master's degree in physics from Oklahoma State University. He was a chemistry teacher at Cushing High School for eight years before moving to Norman in 1958, where he taught chemistry and physics at Norman High School. Later he became the elementary science coordinator for the Norman Public School system. He was a member of Sooner Lions Club, Ham Radio Operators and the Masonic Lodge in Cushing.

Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Jackie, of the home; a daughter, Marlene Hoyt and her husband, Robert of Norman, a sister, Wilma and her husband, George of Cushing; a brother Lyle and his wife, Barbara of Cushing; two grandchildren, Greg and Kelli Hoyt of Norman; several nieces and nephews and many close friends.

Bearers will be Mike Salem, Chas Gaunce, Jim Greenshields, Robert Gilmour, Tim Mauldin and Don Thompson. Honorary bearers will be members of the Sooner Lions Club>

Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Youth Center in Norman.
